Panel Discussion: Selling Your Work

Barbara Boone will moderate a panel of Guild members, Ann Dizikes, Anita Dyer, Martha Stanley and Joan Vierra, who will share from their own experiences the pleasures and pitfalls of selling their work. Covering such areas as pricing, marketing, how production work influences artistic urges, how selling improves or degrades our relationship to our cloth, the trade-offs and satisfactions. The panel will encourage questions and input from the whole group. This should provide excellent insight into a part of the textile art world many of us have thought about but never explored.

Following our meeting, we will gather at Martha Stanley's studio in Corralitos to celebrate the opening of the Guild Library. Bring your lunch, as well as an appetite for books.
A list of books is now available from our website. Click on 'Library' at the top of this page.

Directions to Aptos Village Park:
Take the State Park Drive exit off Highway 1 (the same one we have been taking for years to go to the Aptos Library). Instead of turning left at the intersection with Soquel Drive, turn right. Drive past the shopping area and over the bridge. Make a left turn in front of the Aptos Village Garage. Watch out for approaching traffic as the road curves slightly here. Turn left again IMMEDIATELY, after you cross the railroad tracks. Follow the road until you come to the parking area and club house.
