A group of wristlets or anklets woven by Indian groups living in the Amazon.
Loom was given to Anne some time during the 1980's.  Structure has both warp
and weft systems, warp is simple interlacement with twining to create raised
patterns.

 A-1    Amazonian wristlets, on loom, in process, vegetal     20-1/2" X 3/4"
        fiber, fine as sewing thread.  Loom is triangular
        and includes beating sword.   Loom dimensions:        17" X 16" X 12"

 A-2    Amazonion wristlet, vegetal fiber                     8" X 1-1/2"

Before the loom above was given to Anne, she had been aware of this type of 
textile from an article by G. Schmidt (see bibliography).  Weave structure is
crossed warp, or gauze weave.

 A-8    Black & yellow wool sample, in progress, sticks       29-1/2" X 4-1/2"
         removed.
